How To Accept Any General Truck Delivery:
In the interest of customer awareness, if you are ordering heavy equipment or bulk clay, please read the following carefully. If you have any questions, please call 800-241-1895. We want to help you.
All clay and most equipment will ship from our Atlanta, GA warehouse, unless otherwise notified.
Normal freight charges only include truck-end delivery for wheels, kilns and bulk clay. In other words, the driver's responsibility is to get it to the end of the truck, your responsibility is to help him get it down. They do not have to bring your delivery inside.
Our normal freight charges do not include inside delivery, lift gates or call before delivery, Unless arranged at time of order. Truck lines charge heavily for these extra services, our price to you is basic truck-end service.
We will inform you when your order will be shipping. Call us back when we ask so that we can give you the truck line's phone number and pro number (tracking number). Call the truck line and ask for customer service, give them the pro number and then the truck line will let you know when your delivery will be coming. They can not give you an exact time, they have many deliveries to make. Be prepared to wait.
These are generally commercial, common carrier trucks loaded with commercial deliveries. They will usually arrive with large, high, 48 or 53 foot long van trucks. Have help available if you do not feel up to accepting this type of delivery.
1. Someone must be present at any truck delivery. Your aged grandmother is not a good choice. The receiving person must realize the responsibility for the following:
2. Be prepared to give the driver a hand. They are only responsible for getting it to the end of the truck. This does not mean that they will not help you, it means they do not have to help you and we can not make them.
3. Check your delivery-Our responsibility ends when it is accepted by the carrier.
4. Count your containers and compare the box count to the bill of lading (shipping receipt). Once the bill of lading is signed, your signature means that you accept the freight and that everything is correct.
5. You have the right to open any container that has suspect damage before you sign-off on delivery.
6. If you received damaged goods or are missing merchandise, make a notation on your bill of lading and have the driver sign it.
7. Any claims should be filed with the truck line promptly, usually within 3 days. Do not throw away any packing, take photos if you have a camera handy. Call us as soon as possible.

Accepting Kiln Deliveries By Truck:
The easiest way to accept a sectional kiln delivery is to get it to the end of the truck and take the sections apart. Kilns are strapped to wooden pallets, so have metal band snips on hand. Taking a sectional kiln apart is very easy to do, the sections basically snap in and out. Once the kiln is apart, it becomes much easier to manage. The top section and lid are always the heaviest because they are one unit. We order all kilns made with handles for lifting ease. Carefully lift each section down from the truck and place it back together on the ground or in its final place. Remember the drivers job is only to deliver the product to you, have help with you if you need it.
Gas Raku Kilns, Commercial Electric and Commercial Gas kilns are one-piece units and will require either a fork lift or serious manual labor which you must provide. Lift gate delivery is an option in some locations, ask us to arrange this extra service for you at time of order. Remember, lift gate service only gets it on the ground, not inside or even closer to where you want it.
