Making A Terra Sigillata Slip:
Weigh Materials, Add Sodium Silicate and Soda Ash
Let Them Sit for 24 Hours to Separate
Using a wine decanting cane to siphon
off top 2/3 after settling for 24 hours
Collecting terra sigilatta in bucket
Discard bottom 1/3 and use the decanted
terra sigilatta for burnishing decoration.
The clay particles are so fine, you can use
a plain plastic grocery bag with light stokes
in one direction to get a high shine finish.
