FIRING SERVICES
ELEMENTSí studio offers bisque, lowfire and Cone 6 electric glaze, and raku glaze firing services. Firing services may be purchased by the piece or by the kiln load (we have multiple kiln sizes available for your convenience). Access to our extensive glaze collection is also available at only $1 per pot (lidded pieces count as two pots). In order to be eligible for firing services, pieces must be created out of a KPS clay body and glazed with products or materials from Kickwheel Pottery Supply. Reduction (gas) firing services are for current ELEMENTSí members only. Call 770-986-9011 for price and size guidelines.

Why make ELEMENTS your pottery school?
Every ELEMENTS student, studio member, resident artist and instructor will have the opportunity to fire in our new gas kiln. In addition to unlimited firing in our electric kilns, as well as experimenting with raku, our members will be able to experience Cone 6 reduction firing at no additional charge. Each member and student will be able to choose how they wish to fire each of their pieces. Many reduction glaze and clay samples are already available.

· Unlimited studio access seven days a week (certain rooms may be restricted during class times). With two separate throwing rooms, a spacious handbuilding center and a private glaze room, work space is always available even during peak open studio hours. Weeknight evening access hours are available. Expert studio assistance and troubleshooting is also provided during open studio. Check out our newly expanded second glaze room, providing perfect lighting and comfortable countertop seating for underglaze painting or brush glazing.

· Constant access to more than 60 food-safe glazes, as well as a wide variety of underglazes, decorating and mending slips, engobes, majolicas, glaze crystals and oxides. Raku glazes (not food-safe) are also provided for the raku class and the raku party. An assortment of low-fire glazes is available upon request. If there is actually a glaze you desire that we don't have, you may buy it at KPS (or the chemicals to make it) with your 10% discount, and use it during class. We are always busy at work formulating and testing new glazes for your enjoyment!

· A choice between more than 30 unique clay bodies (provided that the clay is course appropriate). Even raku students have access to five raku clays - allowing them to pick the right one for their projects and work style. Clay is available to students and members for only $15 - $20 per 25 lb. bag, including all glazing and firing (we even have our black clay and several porcelains available at this price).

· No limit on the amount of clay that you can purchase and use during a course. Absolutely no limit on the number of pieces you fire. Whether you only use your free bag, or wish to try several different clay bodies - the only limit is your desire!

· Free participation in an end-of-session raku party (Firing is separate from that for the raku class). Choose to learn about and participate hands-on in the raku process, watch the firing from the sidelines, or drop off your pots and pick them up after the party. Your choice. Studio members may also take part in this exciting firing event, held every 10-12 weeks.

· A 10% discount in Kickwheel Pottery Supply on all tools, books and glazes (this includes Giffin Grips!).

· Student tuition fee also includes course instruction, 25 lbs. of KPS clay (and all glazing/firing associated with that clay), and a two-week (teacher unattended) grace period to finish projects at the end of the course.

· ELEMENTS' classes are always limited to ten participants or fewer. The small course size allows for plenty of individual attention, roomier workspace and readily available equipment.

· Studio members even have several choices for terms of enrollment, all offered at fixed prices. With hourly, monthly and annual membership packages available, you can choose your level of commitment. For those who want to try out the studio without commitment, or for the frequent traveler, join us for our economically priced evening open house offered each week.
